For indie makers
Small studio, meet small shop.
New Shelf is a free email shortlist that introduces new indie makers to US gift and lifestyle boutiques. A shop sees your product, replies with its number, and we introduce you both.

What this is intros to shops that asked to see your product. What it isn’t a marketplace, a store, or a cold list. No orders go through us.
Who pays, and how picks get made.
Who pays?
The waitlist is free, and nothing’s for sale yet. Later, makers may pay for introductions, but only to shops that already said yes to their product. Shops never pay.
How are picks made?
Fit first: category, price, and what a shop told us it wants. Paying can’t get you onto a shop’s shortlist.
How it works
From waitlist to warm intro.
- 01
Shops opt in
Boutiques join free and tell us what they carry and the price range that sells for them.
- 02
We match your product
When a shop is a good fit for what you make, at your price, your product goes on their shelf (the email, that is).
- 03
They say yes, you meet
If a shop replies with your number, we email you both. Warm, expected, and never a cold list.
Every intro starts with a shop saying “yes, that one.”
Categories
Where we’re starting.
- Home fragrance
- Self-care gifts
- $20–40 retail
Candles, room sprays, bath soaks, balms and bars. Make something else giftable? Join the waitlist anyway and tell us what it is.
A good fit looks like
- A giftable hero product at around $20–40 retail
- Wholesale terms that work for small shops: fair minimums, clear lead times
- New and independent: you make it, or your small team does
- Ready to talk to shop owners directly when they say yes
Coming soon
The intro email, roughly.
Intros aren’t live yet. When they are, each one is a short email to you and a shop that picked your product. Before then, we’ll tell you the real number of opted-in shops in your category, whatever it is.
Hi [owner] and [maker]!
[Owner], meet the maker behind [product], No. 2 on your last shelf. [Maker], [shop] is an owner-run gift shop in [city] that asked for home fragrance at $20–40.
I’ll let you two take it from here. — Carlos
Good to know.
Do shops order through New Shelf?
No. Once you’re introduced, you and the shop work out the order directly, on your terms.
Who sees my info?
Only us, until a shop asks to meet you. Then we share what’s needed for the intro, and nothing more.
Who’s behind this?
Carlos Artavia. He reads every maker’s site and checks wholesale terms before anything goes on a shelf. Say hi at hello@getnewshelf.com.
